Reflections in Scotland,

And the "Scotland Outline Clock", or "Jock Clock". I thought I'd better say it
before the web does!

It's no coincidence that Trewscots has been able to have these pieces crafted near our Tartaneering HQ. Scottish engineers are World Renowned for innovation and invention. When Trewscots approached a local firm with the project, they admitted that it would be a challenge, then said "We'll give it a go!" The perfect answer.
In order to cut steel as accurately as we required - basically for the fjord lands of the Scottish West Coast and the Montrose Basin - precision machining by laser is used. Stainless steel presents further problems but doesn't corrode and became the material of choice.
To finish the metal, give it a grain and remove any machining remnants was extra tough with the fine laser cuts difficult to penetrate. A special technique was developed. There was a good deal of cursing during this stage, but perseverance paid off. The whole project was cutting edge (get it!).

"Saltire Blue" does not exist as a colour palette. (There is no RAL or Pantone number). We have done our best to represent the Scots blue sky for the clocks. We looked up to the heavens on February 12 at 12:37 and picked that colour. We forgot to take a photo, but anyway the colour on your web pages viewed on your computer may vary from our manufactured product. That is because of settings on your monitor. We have no control over that. |

Black & Silver Clock
This is a striking timepiece. Part of the appeal is that this clock will stand out
on most wall colours. The hands are available in silver.
In concept the original popped up through a complete mistake whilst trying to colour
design the Saltire clock.

The colour "black" on your computer monitor may not be reproduced to the same specification as we paint.
There is very little waste in the Trewscots factories. With our metal gifts, after the "Jock Clock" is cut from its tile we send for mirror glass and a picture frame. The metal offcut is crafted into a stunning gift that is unusual and original... Now I'm in danger of descending into marketing speak...Have a look at the mirrors and form your own opinion. |

Trewscots regrets that "Reflections in Scotland" mirrors are only available to UK customers. This is due to breakages when despatched overseas. The mirror glass does not survive air or sea freight. |

Care of your clock or mirror.
Your clock or mirror is laser cut from medical quality stainless steel.
Stainless steel does not corrode but the surface may become scratched and marked, especially by fingers. When handling your clock (for hanging) we advise you to use a hanky, gloves or similar material to cover your hands. Fingerprints are oily and will accumulate dust in time
For dust and light stains clean the metal with a cotton cloth and wipe North to South. There is a finish applied to the metal. Cleaning East to West will go against the grain of the finish. For more stubborn stains (nicotine, kitchen dust, BIG cobwebs) simply rub harder or use a denim cloth - slightly rougher material. This may remove the light machine oil dressing of the metal. Replace this oil by lightly re-applying with an oily duster. Use 3-in-one or baby oil.
Remember the steel will not tarnish but may suffer from a build up of dust and debris, particularly if it is displayed in or near a kitchen.
